Founded by ANAD Board President Maria Rago, Ph.D., and comprised of Chicagoland's experts in eating disorder treatment, Rago & Associates is committed to delivering top-tier, contemporary mental health care tailored to your individual needs. While we are most well known as an authority in eating disorder treatment, we also have specializations in many other areas. With a diverse team of therapists and six locations across the Chicago metropolitan area, we will work with you to find the right recovery plan to fit your unique needs.

At Rago & Associates, you will be treated with respect, and you will be involved in all aspects of planning your care. We will begin with a thorough assessment of your symptoms and the building of a treatment plan – the blueprint that you and your counselor, together, will make for your recovery. This blueprint will be tailored to your specific needs and desires, and will be rooted in a relational approach, at times inviting the people who are most important in your life to provide the support and resources needed for recovery.

Treatment Models

At Rago & Associates, our mission is to assist individuals and families to identify, understand and overcome any challenges that interfere with living a happy and fulfilling life. We are proud to offer research-based, creative, innovative, and state-of-the-art treatment for eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, orthorexia, and more.

We believe in creating services and programs unique to each client, utilizing a mix of individual therapy, nutrition therapy, family & couples therapy, equine-assisted therapy, art therapy, the "opening doors" project, and specific trauma therapies such as Holographic Memory Resolution, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Somatic Experiencing.

Key Programs

We believe in creating services and programs unique to each client, and offer traditional outpatient services in a variety of forms to meet you at every stage of your recovery. Additionally, our team can provide nutrition counseling, medical support, and specialized intensive outpatient programming.

We also visit and maintain relationships with residential programs throughout the United States, and more importantly, with the people who have been to the programs to experience them firsthand. This allows us to help you sort through your choices and select the best options for you and your family.

Clients

Our diverse staff includes specialists with years of experience supporting individuals (children, teens, and adults), couples, and families. Our team has extensive experience working with clients in alternative levels of care, and we specialize in understanding, assessing, and guiding our clients as they consider their options and navigate the confusing and difficult questions that may arise.

We also specialize in the unique nutrition and emotional needs of athletes, and have experience teaching clients how to use food, activity, and mind set to strengthen and sustain them for high performance situations while avoiding common myths that actually decrease their power.

Co-Occurring Disorder Specialties

In addition to extensive experience in eating disorder treatment, our team of therapists share specializations in treating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, negative body image, stress, trauma, relationship issues, obsessive compulsive disorder, physical illness, school anxiety & adjustment, grief & loss, self injury, and addiction. We may also suggest additional complementary resources for treatment. Some common additions to your treatment team could include medical monitoring resources, evaluation for psychiatric medication, nutritional counseling, exercise consultation and support.
