About

Haven of Hope Eating Disorder Care Center is an intimate, 13-bed residential treatment program located just outside of Memphis, Tennessee, serving adult women and female-identifying individuals with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns.

Our treatment model is rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS), with particular expertise in the intersection of eating disorders, trauma, attachment wounds, and complex personality presentations. Through highly individualized clinical and nutritional care, we help clients understand not only the behaviors surrounding their eating disorder, but the deeper experiences, protective patterns, and underlying needs that often sustain them.

Our small, home-like setting allows our multidisciplinary team to know each client deeply and provide compassionate, relational, trauma-informed care designed to support meaningful and lasting recovery.

What sets us apart

Haven of Hope offers a uniquely IFS-informed approach to residential eating disorder treatment. Rather than approaching eating disorder behaviors simply as symptoms to eliminate, we help clients develop curiosity and compassion toward the protective functions those behaviors may serve while building safer, more sustainable ways of meeting their needs.

Our intentionally small program allows for an exceptional level of individualized attention and clinical depth. Treatment integrates intensive individual therapy, nutrition rehabilitation, meal support and exposure work, family and support-system involvement, and experiential therapies within a warm, relational environment.

We are particularly equipped to work with clients whose eating disorders intersect with trauma, attachment disruption, emotional dysregulation, and other complex mental health concerns—including individuals who may have struggled to make meaningful progress in more traditional treatment environments.

Treatment Models

Internal Family Systems (IFS) serves as the foundation of our clinical approach and is integrated throughout individual and group therapy. Our therapists are EMDR certified or actively completing certification, allowing trauma treatment to be thoughtfully incorporated when clinically appropriate.

Treatment also incorporates somatic, experiential, and nervous-system-informed approaches, including trauma-informed yoga, equine therapy, expressive arts, movement, therapeutic cooking, meal exposures, and animal-assisted grounding.

Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to address the psychological, nutritional, relational, and behavioral components of eating disorder recovery while helping each client develop skills that extend well beyond residential treatment.

Key Programs

Clients participate in robust weekly programming designed to support both eating disorder recovery and deeper emotional healing. IFS concepts are woven throughout treatment, including regular unblending skills groups and exploration of IFS principles as they relate specifically to eating disorders.

Experiential programming includes trauma-informed yoga, equine therapy, therapeutic cooking, expressive arts, movement, and opportunities for animal-assisted grounding—including visits from therapy dogs and our much-loved baby goats.

Nutrition rehabilitation is an integral part of treatment, with individualized nutrition support, structured meals and snacks, therapeutic meal experiences, and one-on-one exposure work designed to help clients build greater flexibility, confidence, and trust around food.

Clients

Haven of Hope serves adult women and female-identifying individuals, ages 18 and older, seeking residential treatment for eating disorders with or without co-occurring mental health concerns.

We frequently work with clients whose eating disorders are intertwined with trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, depression, OCD, emotional dysregulation, personality-related concerns, and other complex clinical presentations. Our team is comfortable working with complexity while maintaining an individualized approach based on each client's needs, safety, and treatment goals.

Our intimate residential environment can be especially valuable for individuals who need a highly relational treatment experience, greater clinical individualization, or a different approach after struggling to achieve sustained recovery in previous treatment settings.

Co-Occurring Disorder Specialties

Haven of Hope specializes in treating eating disorders alongside co-occurring trauma and mental health concerns. Our clinical team has experience supporting clients with PTSD and complex trauma, attachment-related concerns, anxiety, depression, OCD, emotional dysregulation, personality disorders, and dissociative symptoms and disorders.

Rather than treating these concerns separately from the eating disorder, our multidisciplinary team works to understand how each aspect of a client's experience interacts with the others. Treatment is integrated, trauma-informed, and grounded in compassion, curiosity, and clinical nuance—with the goal of helping clients build recovery that addresses the whole person rather than the eating disorder alone.
