Warning Signs of OSFED

Acknowledge sensitivity and variability of symptoms

Constant thoughts about food, weight, or appearance that interfere with daily life or self-worth.

Noticeable and frequent changes in weight that may not be tied to intentional efforts.

Physical symptoms often caused by nutritional deficiencies or dehydration.

Heightened stress, guilt, or worry when faced with eating or certain foods.

Rigid rules around when, what, or how to eat; may include eating foods in a specific order or cutting them into tiny pieces.

Chewing food for taste but spitting it out to avoid swallowing, often as a way to avoid calorie intake.

Getting sick more often due to poor nutrition affecting the body’s ability to fight illness.

An intense physical or emotional reaction to certain foods, which may lead to avoidance, discomfort, or distress even when there is no medical allergy present. This can contribute to restrictive eating patterns or anxiety around meals.

Note: Everyone’s experience is different, and all eating and body image concerns deserve attention.
