Kathryn Short, M.Ed, LPC, CEDS is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose interests include counseling young women, college students, and those suffering with eating disorders. Kathryn is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

While in graduate school Kathryn interned at SafeHarbor working with victims of domestic violence. Kathryn also interned at Pickens Behavioral Health working with adolescents in the school system. After graduate school Kathryn worked as a clinical manager at Eating Recovery Center, The Carolinas overseeing and working with individuals recovering from eating disorders in the Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, and outpatient settings. Kathryn started a private practice, Reedy River Counseling Associates,  in 2016 with a couple of her close friends who also share a passion for working with Eating Disorders.

Our mission at Reedy River Counseling is to provide integrated counseling and nutrition services with a wholehearted approach to help people overcome disordered eating, depression, anxiety, and other clinical issues.  Our hope is to empower each of our clients to thrive as they were created. We believe that eating disorders are best treated from a holistic approach.  Our clinicians utilize best practice treatment models which include a multidisciplinary approach to recovery.  These experts work closely with medical and clinical professionals in other disciplines that include but are not limited to physicians, therapists, psychiatrists, dietitians, family therapists, and treatment centers.

Kathryn has completed her certification as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Kathryn‘s areas of interests include:  eating disorders, body image issues, depression, anxiety, and adjustment issues. She is a Health at Every Size friendly provider.

When Kathryn is not at work, you can find her renovating her house with her husband, Joey, chasing her toddler, traveling, and exploring the outdoors.
