This training will help Grocery Buddies learn how to deal with the different issues and situations that may arise while supporting someone in eating disorder recovery and give them the appropriate skills and tools for being a Grocery Buddy including the following:
  • How to best serve as a grocery buddy to someone currently in eating disorder recovery
  • How to set appropriate boundaries around helping a person in recovery with their grocery shopping
  • How to help a person in recovery find recipes and put together a grocery list based on their meal plan or what their body hungers for and wants
  • How to accompany someone with an eating disorder with their grocery shopping: how to support them appropriately, how to listen to they need, and skills to help with any expressive anxiety with grocery shopping
  • When and how to direct a person in eating disorder recovery to more resources and professional help
