Eating Disorder Types & Symptoms
According to the American Psychiatric Association, eating disorders are illnesses in which people experience severe disturbances in their eating behaviors and related thoughts and emotions. People with eating disorders typically become preoccupied with food and/or their body weight.
There are many different types of eating disorders including some which may not be formally recognized in the DSM-5-TR, but this does not lessen the impact they may have on an individual’s well-being. At ANAD, we believe that all food and body image concerns deserve attention and care.
