TYPES OF ANAD RESOURCE PEOPLE

Personal Assistance

  • You are familiar with eating disorders and are willing to share your feelings and experiences by talking with and being supportive of individuals and/or family members with anorexia nervosa and associated disorders.

Community Education

  • You enjoy speaking at libraries, schools, universities, civic groups and other institutions which serve the public. You will present information which will bring better understanding of eating disorders.

Fund Raising

  • Use your passion and skill at fund raising to help ANAD solicit funds that will continue to support our free services.

Advocacy

  • Your interest in helping to protect the basic human and legal rights sufferers of eating disorders and their families will be channeled to fighting for parity under the law and other issues.

ANAD SERVICES TO RESOURCE PERSONS
ANAD will provide the following services to resource persons.
  1. Send ANAD’s newsletters and other information to assist people to understand and cope with eating disorders.
  2. Supply you with printed material on eating disorders to assist you in the development of community programs.
  3. Direct people who contact ANAD from your area to you. We will put them in touch with you if correspondence with a support person is needed.
  4. Notify you of seminars and meetings sponsored by ANAD to share ideas.
  5. In these ways, you will assist in fulfilling ANAD's purpose.

REQUIRED COMMUNICATIONS FOR THE ANAD RESOURCE PERSON.
Send a semi-annual report of activities, speaking engagements, fund raising and other information about activities as an ANAD resource person to the ANAD office. 
Resource people must also use ANAD’s name when representing ANAD in all community programs and/or written correspondence relative to eating disorders.
ANAD POLICIES
ANAD  policies encourage people affected by eating disorders to make their own decisions in regard to their care and treatment. We provide information and support, but we do not make decisions for anyone suffering from an eating disorders.  ANAD programs and services are not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.
Resource persons and everyone associated with ANAD should abide by these policies.
Resource persons may share their experiences, make suggestions for the consideration of those seeking support or counsels, and assist them to formulate their own choices.

All ANAD services are free. However, those receiving ANAD services are invited to support ANAD programs by making a donation. ANAD is a non profit organization which provides multiple services with very limited funds.
NON FULFILLMENT OF AGREEMENT
Failure to fulfill the agreement to develop eating disorders programming, fulfill ANAD purposes or adhere to ANAD policies immediately renders the affiliation agreement null and void. In the event the affiliation agreement is terminated the resource person agrees to stop immediately the name ANAD or the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders. If you no longer desire tor can carry out ANAD programs, the national office should be contacted immediately so that we can keep our mailing lists up to date.
